You may be familiar with Jorjiana’s success from her hit song “ILBB2” featuring a remix by GloRilla, but we urge you not to stop there. The Michigan City, Indiana-based female rapper from the Midwest has unveiled a new track called “Time” along with its corresponding music video, which showcases a captivating blend of various musical styles.
Initially, her lyrics move at a quick pace but remain relatively calm as she contemplates remaining motivated, self-assured, and resolute despite the pressures of increasing fame and its accompanying challenges. Several song lyrics touch on themes of personal growth like international travel and interacting with fans who support Jorjiana’s music, while others focus on topics such as lost friendships, widespread negativity, and her efforts to stay motivated and focused despite these challenges.
The standout element of “Time” is its beat, which was produced by EMRLD, and may catch fans off guard if they were only familiar with tracks like “ILBB2” or high-energy songs such as “Wok Sauce.” A light drum beat, wistful piano keys, and magnificent brass instruments combine to create a very jazzy atmosphere, and Jorjiana performs smoothly over it with a dry, unemotional tone.
This 20-year-old’s endeavour may be dismissed by some, but it is rooted in a genuine tradition of blending genres in a skillful manner. “Elevator Spaghetti” showcases a bossa nova-influenced direction while retaining the overall lounge ambiance characteristic of “Time.”
