Nigerian artists Joeboy and Wizard Chan are collaborating on a new EP titled Agaba Romantic. This information was revealed during a live Twitch session with content creator Romeo WJ, where Joeboy mentioned that they had recorded several tracks together and felt it was the right time to release them.

Wizard Chan confirmed the collaboration on his Instagram page on January 31, noting that rising artist Qing Madi would also feature on the project.

Details regarding the release date, track list, and cover art have not yet been disclosed, but fans are already excited about this ongoing musical partnership that has yielded positive results in the past. Joeboy and Wizard Chan have previously worked together on songs like Loner, I’ll Be Okay, and Heal, combining their distinct musical styles within the Afropop genre.

Joeboy is known for his catchy melodies and romantic themes, while Wizard Chan blends Ijaw sounds with influences from highlife, folk, reggae, and hip-hop, creating his unique style referred to as “Afro-Teme.” The collaboration is expected to offer a unique blend of romance and cultural elements.

The title Agaba Romantic reflects Wizard Chan’s established persona, as he incorporates the “Agaba” identity in his single Big Masquerade, which connects to his Niger Delta heritage. The term “Romantic” aligns with Joeboy’s reputation for love-themed tracks, indicating that listeners can anticipate heartfelt lyrics along with engaging rhythms.

Given the success of their previous collaborations, Agaba Romantic is poised to become one of the most awaited Nigerian music projects of the year, combining romantic narratives with diverse musical styles.
