Nigerian singer Shoday, whose real name is Segun Shodade, has provided a cautious view on his music career, stating that he refrains from getting tattoos to keep his future options flexible.

In a recent interview, he explained that this decision stems from an understanding of the unpredictable nature of the entertainment industry, even for emerging talents.

Shoday acknowledged that while music is his passion, he does not consider it a guaranteed route to lasting success. Consequently, he chooses to maintain an outlook that allows him to adapt if necessary.

He stated, “I don’t have a tattoo on my body because I am skeptical. If music doesn’t work, I will carry my files and go back to office work. I don’t want to put myself in a position where I limit my future options.”

He clarified that his mindset is based on practicality rather than fear, emphasizing that having a backup plan provides him with peace of mind as he develops his music career.

He pointed out that success in the industry is never certain, regardless of one’s talent or dedication.

“Music is not guaranteed for anybody. I enjoy what I do, but I also understand that life can change at any time,” he noted.

Shoday’s remarks reflect a growing trend among young creatives who balance ambition with caution, embracing their passion while also preparing for life beyond their current endeavors.
