Fola Discusses His Success Story And Breakthrough Moment

Music was an integral part of the singer’s family life. Growing up in a household where singing was common during morning devotions helped to build his confidence and foster his passion for performing from an early age.

He also mentioned that his career could have moved in a different direction after Bella Shmurda, the founder of Dagbana Republik, introduced him to Kizz Daniel while discussing a potential record deal. Although the meeting nearly led to him signing with the award-winning artist, the agreement did not ultimately materialize.

Despite the fast pace of the music industry, Fola stated that he has cultivated a mindset that keeps him grounded. Instead of comparing his progress to that of other artists, he focuses on his own journey, believing that self-confidence has been essential for managing the pressures associated with success.

He attributed much of that confidence to his family, especially his mother, who consistently encouraged him to believe in his potential for greatness. Their steadfast support, along with his father’s appreciation of his music, provided him with the motivation to pursue his dreams even before achieving recognition.

When success finally arrived, one of Fola’s first significant investments was for his mother. He bought her a piece of land in Ibadan, where she subsequently founded a church, which he regarded as a meaningful way to give back to the woman who always believed in him.

Outside of music, the singer shared his thoughts on relationships, indicating that he considers excessive talking to be a major red flag when selecting a partner.

From working behind the counter at a betting outlet to emerging as one of Nigeria’s fastest-rising music talents, Fola’s journey highlights persistence, family support, and a strong belief in his dreams.
