Nigerian Afro-dancehall artist Ruger has released “R.U. (Raw & Unfiltered), Vol.1,” a six-track EP that showcases a more authentic and versatile aspect of his music beyond his typical energetic style.

The project is independently released under BlownBoy Entertainment and delves into various emotions, experiences, and musical influences while retaining Ruger’s distinctive melodic identity. It features personal reflections as well as international collaborations, reflecting the artist’s growth and creative evolution.

The tracklist includes “She Don’t Like Men,” “All Die,” “Private Chef” featuring MC Morena, “Do Nothing” featuring Musa Keys and Young Stunna, “Loved at Home,” and “Jesus Loves Me.” Each song presents a unique mood, ranging from introspective and spiritual themes to vibrant Afrobeats, Brazilian funk, and South African Amapiano influences.

The EP, written and composed by Ruger with Kukbeat as executive producer and Milla Mix responsible for mixing and mastering, signifies a more personal phase for the artist. It emphasizes his capability to blend vulnerability, experimentation, and global sounds while remaining true to his roots.
