Davolee – Festival Of Barz ll

Nigerian rapper Davolee has released “Festival Of Barz II,” the follow-up to his 2022 single. The original “Festival Of Barz,” which debuted in the summer of 2022 after his first studio project, established a template for his music. Davolee, whose real name is Oluwasegun David Shokoya, blends Yoruba, English, and Pidgin in his verses, presenting the track as a platform for his lyrical skills. Therefore, a sequel seems fitting. Fans of the initial release will recognize the format: emphasis on wordplay followed by a hook.

The concept of a sequel is not unfamiliar to him; his “Festival Bar” EP features a track titled “Festival Bar 2,” produced by Unbelievable Beats. This track begins by declaring “part two” and explores themes of street life and valuable lessons learned. The new “Festival Of Barz II” continues this narrative and maintains the series’ continuity.

Beyond this series, Davolee has developed a varied catalogue. His album “Earning Wish” comprises 15 songs, while “Na My Shoe I Buckle” contains 11 tracks, and the single “Jollof Christmas” introduces a festive element. This diversity highlights his ability to navigate between serious and playful themes while retaining his Yoruba influence.

Information regarding the production of the new record is limited, indicating that attentive listening will be essential. Rap enthusiasts who appreciate intricate Yoruba wordplay should discover a wealth of material to engage with.
