Davido Provides New Information About His Upcoming Album ‘ORIADE’

Afrobeats artist Davido has provided fans with insight into his upcoming album, ORIADE, which will consist of 13 tracks aimed at appealing to a variety of listeners.

In a recent interview with the American media platform Notion, the acclaimed singer outlined the album as a thoughtfully crafted work that delves into various emotions and experiences, while remaining true to his distinct musical style.

“13 songs, all bangers, and I can’t wait for you guys to hear it. There are songs for the ladies, songs for the guys, songs about struggle, and I can’t wait for it to drop,”

Davido stated regarding the album titled ‘ORIADE.’

He announced that ORIADE is set to be released on July 31, 2026, revealing the project through a cinematic teaser posted on his social media channels. The announcement video showcased Davido in traditional Yoruba attire, accompanied by a Yoruba praise chant reflecting the album’s title.

In the teaser, he noted:

“The kingdom expands. Chosen long before the throne.”

This forthcoming album will be Davido’s sixth studio album and his seventh major project since entering the Nigerian music industry over ten years ago. It represents a shift in his usual pattern, as ORIADE will include 13 tracks, differing from his earlier albums, which each included 17 songs.

Before the album’s launch, Davido released his first single of 2026, I Know Who I Be, featuring South African artists JAZZWRLD and GL Ceejay. This song continues his exploration of South Africa’s emerging three-step sound, building on the musical direction he previously explored in Nakupenda.

During the same interview, Davido reflected on his performance at the ongoing 2026 FIFA World Cup, expressing pride in representing both Nigeria and Africa, despite the Super Eagles not qualifying for the tournament.

“Nigeria didn’t make it to the World Cup, so I was there representing, and the energy was off the roof,”

he said.

Davido performed at the FIFA World Cup Countdown Concert in Los Angeles, joining a growing roster of African artists participating in the tournament.

Burna Boy performed the official World Cup anthem, Dai Dai, alongside Shakira at the opening ceremony in Mexico, while South African artist Tyla shared the stage with American rapper Future during the kickoff ceremony in the United States.
