Tory Lanez broke his silence for the first time since the release of the diss track by PARTYNEXTDOOR on February 28, only to retract his statement hours later. Based on the “LUV” singer’s reaction, it appears he is not willing to drop the issue just yet.

Lanez expressed confusion with the question, writing “Why wake me up?” on his Instagram Stories. From what could be gathered, the imprisoned celebrity’s reaction appeared to be a response to PND’s earlier comments, but he chose not to elaborate any further. He didn’t elaborate further, but from the looks of it, the incarcerated star seemed to be responding to PND’s previous remarks.

“I was informed about your comments after watching your video was not an option for me,” the COLOURS artist posted on social media on Thursday (Feb. 27). I agree with you completely and would have made the same statement myself, but now that I’ve seen it, I realize I was in error. The city is at its best when its communities work together.

The apology followed shortly after PND released a pre-release of a diss track in which he claimed Lanez sounds like him and possibly alluded to his case involving Megan Thee Stallion, saying: “Life is short, the lawyer’s cheap/ The people that love me, they love me/ Would’ve been back in the streets by Monday.”
