Just weeks ahead of the release of her sophomore album, Cardi B is finally ready to reveal all the tea on AM I THE DRAMA? Almost all of it, well.

The “I Like It” rapper discussed her older songs, potential guest appearances, and her tour schedule in a recent Billboard interview released on Wednesday (Sept. 3). She mentioned that she had always been aware she’d release a second album; however, at the time, she didn’t have a cohesive project.

Cardi B stated that when she released “WAP” and “Up,” she had only four records that she genuinely enjoyed. Despite having the option to focus solely on singles, the Grammy-winning artist decided to pursue more by releasing the entire album, stating, “I want to put out this whole project because I have a lot of songs.” I documented 60 songs.

Speaking of the Grammys, Cardi clarified she isn’t counting on another award for her to consider AM I THE DRAMA a success. Circumstances have evolved over time. For her, success will be achieved when people say ‘she released a great album.’

The Bronx native also discussed possible features in the interview elsewhere. Although she didn’t give away much information, fans “just got to hear it” to learn the specifics, and she did confirm that SZA recorded her vocals. The “Snooze” singer notably wrote, “Lemme send this verse, kid” back in June.

Cardi’s collaborator, “I Do,” did not participate, despite Cardi appearing to be understanding. The rapper reasoned that she seemed extremely exhausted due to her extensive touring schedule, and then added, “and then on top of that, I don’t know.” It is possible that she completed the verse. I’ve been overhearing other conversations. We’ll just have to wait and see.

According to the publication, Cardi will embark on a 30+ city North American tour in February, marking her first headlining tour, which is set to conclude its US leg in April.

The drama series AM I THE DRAMA is set to premiere on streaming platforms on September 19. The 23-song compilation will feature tracks like “Outside” and “Imaginary Playerz,” as well as previously released hits such as “WAP” with Megan Thee Stallion and “Up”.
