Brenden Praise – Hi Yena ft. Free 2 Wrshp

Brenden Praise has introduced “Hi Yena,” a Tsonga worship song that has been part of church traditions for decades, featuring Free 2 Wrshp.

There are many Tsonga songs that remain outside the mainstream music scene, and it is encouraging to see artists like Brenden Praise working to change that. These traditional hymns are a significant part of church repertoire and have been handed down through generations, and they are not exclusive to Tsonga rhythms; traditional Zulu church settings also have their own hymns.

In today’s interconnected world, there is an opportunity for these meaningful traditional hymns to reach a wider audience, and Brenden Praise’s efforts in documenting and cataloging these songs are noteworthy.

He has made “Hi Yena,” a beloved song from childhood, available on digital platforms. While he has introduced his own interpretations and style, the song continues to fulfill its purpose: the glorification of Christ.
