Nigerian rapper Blaqbonez has left fans in laughter after sharing a humorous anecdote about how he and fellow artist Ckay found themselves unexpectedly “stranded” in Peckham, South London, during an initial trip to the UK.

Appearing on the In My Opinion podcast, the Cinderella Girl rapper reminisced about how both artists, recently arrived in London and unfamiliar with its layout, mistakenly booked a perceived good Airbnb deal, which ultimately turned out to be based in Peckham.

As soon as we landed in London, we found out that the apartment was located in Peckham, a neighbourhood that Blaqbonez found quite surprising given the affluent areas they had driven through beforehand. I exclaimed, ‘Eh!’ The London we’ve been seeing doesn’t look like this!’”

The rapper claimed the situation became even more amusing when they confidently informed friends, “We’re in London!” only to be greeted with a perplexed reaction: “Where are you?” and they would reply, “Peckham.” Then they’d say, “Aye bro, what are you doing out there?”

At the time, the duo didn’t grasp the local colloquialisms until someone clarified that “the ends” referred to a deprived area of the town. At that point, it became clear that they couldn’t stay there, he explained, saying they promptly packed up and started looking for a new place to stay.
