The NFL made a notable decision by selecting Bad Bunny as the headliner for the Super Bowl 2026 halftime show, despite some criticism. On December 3, Spotify announced that the Latin artist was its most-streamed musician of 2025.

This announcement was part of Spotify’s annual Wrapped campaign, which features lists of the year’s best performers. Bad Bunny was ranked first among a list that included Taylor Swift at No. 2, the Weeknd at No. 3, Drake at No. 4, and Billie Eilish at No. 5. Kendrick Lamar also secured the No. 6 position, despite his GNX album not releasing until late 2024.

The artist took the top spot on Spotify’s Global Top Albums of 2025 list with his album DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS, which was released in January. However, the rankings differed when it came to the Top U.S. Artists of 2025 list, where Swift led, followed by Drake, Morgan Wallen, Kendrick Lamar, and then Bad Bunny.

Bad Bunny’s collection of awards continues to grow. In October, he won one of his 11 awards (out of 27 nominations) at the Latin Billboard Awards for Top Latin Artist of the 21st Century. He also received an Album of the Year award at the 26th Annual Latin Grammy Awards in November.

Looking ahead to 2026, Bad Bunny’s schedule remains full. In addition to his Super Bowl halftime performance, he is in the midst of his “DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS World Tour,” which began on November 21 in the Dominican Republic. The tour is set to visit several countries, including Spain, Mexico, France, and Poland, before concluding at the King Baudouin Stadium in Brussels in July 2026.

In September, Bad Bunny discussed his decision to exclude the mainland United States from his tour dates. In an interview with i-D for a cover story, he expressed concerns about potential ICE raids at his concerts, indicating apprehensions regarding immigration enforcement practices towards the Latino community during President Donald Trump’s administration.
