Babyface Ray – Netflix & Chill

Babyface Ray Netflix And Chill Stream

Babyface Ray recently shared his talents with the next generation of Michigan artists, specifically through his “On The Wall” feature for Lelo, yet his skills remain evident in his own music. Recently, he released the new single “Netflix & Chill,” which combines a large, intimidating rhythm with some introspective or sorrowful passages.

The Detroit lyricist makes a very interesting contrast very clear from the very first moments of the track’s vocal performance. He begins the track by rapping, “Baby, I can’t Netflix and chill, I’m still in motion / Think about the homies that I lost, I get emotional,” a phrase that references other works such as last year’s The Kid That Did.

Instrumentally, the track features the anticipated Detroit bounce and drum kit, incorporating rapid, lasery flutters and occasional embellishments. Ethereal synths are woven throughout the mix in a melodic manner. The main draw of the song “Netflix & Chill” is its key melody, which is heard throughout the entire track, and serves as an anchor for Babyface Ray’s confident and relentless performance in a menacing setting.

We’ll see what the “Shrink Wrap” artist does next and if this new track will eventually lead to a new project sometime this year. Babyface Ray has consistently released new material, including mixtapes and collaborations such as “Wavy Navy University” with Veeze, another Detroit rapper. Regardless of what happens, we’re always eager to see his next display of lyrical skill and the hits he’s refined.
