A$AP Rocky dislikes the outcome of the rap feud between Drake and Kendrick Lamar. Above all, he is particularly disapproving of the Canadian celebrity’s decision to sue Universal Music Group for defamation and harassment in connection with the release of “Not Like Us.”

It’s really frustrating to see how things are unfolding with [Drake] going through a lawsuit and everything. Which part of the game are you referring to? In his ELLE interview, which was published on September 23, he questioned what kind of thing that was. I suppose that’s none of my business, he added. The Harlem native acknowledged that the exchange between Drake and Lamar was “healthy for Hip Hop,” despite his understandable reservations about the lawsuit.

A$AP Rocky then inserted himself into the conflict. He took aim at Drake on Future and Metro Boomin’s track “Show of Hands”, released in April 2024. In his guest verse, A$AP Mob’s leader rapped about people being overly emotional about women and then seemingly implied that he had slept with Sophie Brussaux, the mother of Toronto rapper Flacko’s son: “I slept with her before she gave birth to her son, Flacko was the first to sleep with her, son.”

It is well known that A$AP Rocky decided not to escalate the situation any further, even after being responded to by Drizzy on “Family Matters.” The battle was primarily between Kendrick and Drake, not Drake and the rest of those who criticized him at the time, which is why I stepped back.

The rapper from last year’s TESTING album told Billboard he avoided the situation because he had “bigger fish to fry than some petty individuals.” He stated, “The meat served outside is genuine beef.” The reality is that people, in particular young black men, are being seriously harmed and killed daily. They are being shot at by other young black men every day. That little kitten isn’t worth getting excited about.

Contrary to initial expectations, Drake was surprisingly correct about one aspect on “Family Matters,” with A$AP Rocky having a child before releasing his next album, Don’t Be Dumb. The “Tailor Swift” artist told ELLE that they don’t plan on having children, but if it happens, adjustments will be necessary.
