Asake’s Latest Post On Instagram Has Ignited Huge Speculation Among His Fans

Nigerian music sensation Asake has caused a stir on social media by quietly changing his Instagram handle from @asakemusic to @MrMoney, sparking intense speculation among fans and industry experts over a potential new project.

The sudden switch, occurring without an official announcement, quickly drew the attention of more than 5 million of his followers. Some think the change marks the start of a new period for the Afrobeats artist, which may be related to his long-promised fourth studio album.

Asake’s rise to fame is deeply associated with the nickname “Mr. Money”. The song originated from his 2020 hit single and became a cultural phenomenon following the success of his record-breaking 2022 debut album, Mr. Money With The Vibe. The handle shift appears to pay homage to his origins while introducing a fresh artistic period.

Sources close to him claim his upcoming album, Money, is being released in line with the initial announcement he made in mid-2025. According to reports, the project will be his inaugural full-length release on his independent label, Giran Republic, following his exit from Olamide’s YBNL earlier this year. A short video clip shared earlier on social media that showed him working in the studio only fuelled more speculation that the project’s release is imminent.

The change also occurs at a time when Asake is preparing for a hectic last quarter of 2025. His recent singles, which include the chart-topping tracks “Why Love” and “Che Che” featuring Young Jonn, have ensured he remains in the public eye, with preparations currently underway for his “Mr. Money African Tour 2025”, set to begin in December.

Asake has not yet confirmed the release details for his song Money, but fans believe that the rebrand of his Instagram page signals the beginning of a large-scale rollout. According to past events, his next announcement could significantly disrupt the Afrobeats scene once more, demonstrating that whenever Mr. Money makes a move, the industry takes note.
