Asake Leads Nigeria’s All-Time Most Streamed Albums Chart

Since 2020, Asake has established himself as a significant presence in Nigeria’s music industry, consistently ranking among the most-streamed albums in the country.

At the forefront is Asake’s 2023 album ‘Work of Art,’ which has amassed 661.2 million streams. The album has received acclaim from fans and critics alike and continues to dominate streaming charts. His debut album, ‘Mr Money With The Vibe,’ follows closely with 634 million streams, while his third album, ‘Lungu Boy,’ ranks sixth with 387 million streams.

This strong performance highlights Asake’s rise as a prominent artist, influencing the Afrobeats genre and shifting the industry’s commercial landscape. Spotify Nigeria’s data supports this, identifying him as the most-streamed artist on the platform since its launch in Nigeria in 2021.

Asake first gained wide recognition with his EP ‘Ololade Asake’ in January 2022. His unique combination of dynamic rap and Fuji-infused melodies, along with producer Magicsticks’ innovative use of log drums, helped him achieve widespread popularity.

With three albums in the top ten, Asake is a key figure in Nigeria’s streaming era, significantly impacting contemporary Nigerian pop music.

In addition to Asake’s success, other Nigerian artists have also made notable contributions. Burna Boy has three albums in total, with two in the top ten: his 2022 album ‘Love, Damini’ at No. 4 (436.8 million streams) and 2023’s ‘I Told Them’ at No. 9 (308 million streams). His 2020 Grammy-winning album ‘Twice As Tall’ is listed at No. 19 (235.3 million streams).

Davido also has multiple entries, with his fourth album ‘Timeless’ at No. 5 (428 million streams) and his fifth album ‘5IVE’ at No. 15, despite its 2025 release. Wizkid appears twice with his sixth album ‘Morayo’ at No. 10 (301.4 million streams) and ‘Made In Lagos’ at No. 13 (264.1 million streams).
