With this album, Tjay aims to combine honesty with momentum, presenting They Just Ain’t You as a continuation of his musical style while also advancing his artistry.

He explained in an interview with OkayPlayer, “The album is called They Just Ain’t You because people think they know, but they really have no idea what it is like to walk in your shoes.”
