Album: Denzel Curry & Kenneth Blume – ii

Denzel Curry and Kenneth Blume, formerly known as Kenny Beats, are collaborating again. Six years after their initial project, UNLOCKED, the rapper-producer duo has reunited for a new album, often referred to as UNLOCKED II. This sequel consists of nine tracks that emphasize the strong chemistry that characterized their first collaboration. In this project, they opted for a minimalist approach, utilizing an SP-404, an inexpensive microphone, and a focus on instinct rather than a polished studio environment. The outcome features Denzel delivering impactful verses over Blume’s production while becoming more introspective. The guest list includes JPEGMAFIA, Westside Gunn, and Yebba, with Yebba featured on the previously released track “DIFFERENCE.” Although the project is brief, this choice appears to be deliberate, as Denzel and Blume aim to highlight their lyrical content, production quality, and creative synergy.
