AFCON 2025: Davido Places ₦71m Bet On Nigeria

Afrobeats artist Davido has expressed strong support for the Super Eagles by placing a significant bet on their upcoming match. In anticipation of Nigeria’s AFCON 2025 semi-final against Morocco, he announced that he has wagered ₦71 million on the team.

The much-awaited match is scheduled for tonight, January 14, 2025, at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat, with kickoff at 9 PM.

Nigeria has performed impressively in the tournament so far, maintaining an unbeaten record and scoring more goals than any other team. This success has fueled confidence among fans, including Davido.

On his Instagram, the award-winning artist shared his betting slip from the gambling platform Stake, showing that he staked $50,000 (approximately ₦71 million) on Nigeria to defeat Morocco. The bet covers several conditions, including Nigeria winning, both teams scoring, and over 1.5 total goals. A final score of 2–1 in favor of Nigeria would ensure the bet is successful.

Should the Super Eagles win, Davido could potentially earn around $348,274.07, equivalent to about ₦495 million.

Additionally, Davido indicated that he is willing to increase his bet if Nigeria advances to the final, stating, “Nigeria to make the finals and I’ll double my stake on my slip… @stake.”

The winner of tonight’s match will secure a place in the AFCON 2025 final against either Egypt or Senegal.
