Spotify Unveils Its Big 2026 Songs Of Summer Predictions, Launches Fan Voting Feature

Spotify has released its 2026 Songs of Summer predictions, featuring a curated list of 30 tracks that its editorial team anticipates may influence listening trends in the upcoming summer.

The annual list includes a mix of well-known artists and emerging talents from various genres and regions. Artists such as Ariana Grande, Drake, Tems, the Ghanaian duo DopeNation, and Zara Larsson are highlighted, showcasing Spotify’s commitment to a diverse music landscape.

This year’s selection reflects multiple emerging musical trends expected to shape summer listening. These include dance records influenced by nostalgia, globally inspired club sounds, emotionally resonant pop music, and a rise in country songs centered on themes of travel and personal experience.

For the first time, Spotify has implemented an in-app voting feature that allows users to vote on the track they believe will become the defining song of the summer. Fans can participate directly through the platform and share their choices on social media.

Spotify’s editorial team has noted a resurgence of nostalgic dance and club influences as a key theme for the season. Tracks like “New Religion” by Bebe Rexha and Faithless, “Jamaican (Bam Bam)” by HUGEL and SOLTO, and “Girl Like Me” by PinkPantheress draw from earlier electronic music eras. Zara Larsson’s “Midnight Sun” is also recognized for its inspiration from 1990s house and early 2000s French electronic music.

Global dance fusion remains prominent, as exemplified by “Kakalika” from DopeNation, which mixes azonto rhythms with amapiano elements.

Another notable trend is described by Spotify as a “sadboy summer,” characterized by emotionally introspective pop tracks. Examples include “Babydoll” by Dominic Fike and “Earrings” by Malcolm Todd.

Country music features strongly as well, with what Spotify refers to as “postcard country,” where storytelling connects to specific places and personal memories. Highlights include “Mexico Honey” by Kacey Musgraves and “Doors” by Noah Kahan.

The complete list of 2026 Songs of Summer consists of various tracks, including “Raindance (feat. Tems)” by Dave and Tems, “Janice STFU” by Drake, “drop dead” by Olivia Rodrigo, “Dracula – JENNIE Remix” by Tame Impala and JENNIE, among others, alongside tracks from emerging artists such as ANOTR, Cameron Whitcomb, and DopeNation.

With this selection, Spotify continues its role in shaping seasonal listening trends by blending established names with new voices and providing insight into the direction of popular music in 2026.
