Snoop Dogg Seeks To Be Removed From The Wrongful Death Lawsuit Involving Drakeo The Ruler, According To Reports

Snoop Dogg is reportedly seeking a judge’s dismissal of his company from the wrongful death lawsuit related to Drakeo The Ruler.

On Wednesday, TMZ reported that the rapper filed a motion for a summary judgment in the civil suit, which was initiated by Drakeo’s brother in 2022, asserting that Snoop is not at fault for the fatal incident.

Drakeo, whose real name was Darrell Caldwell, was fatally stabbed in the neck during an altercation backstage on December 18, 2021. He passed away the following day at the age of 28. Although Snoop Dogg was one of the headliners at the event, he claims this was the extent of his involvement.

Snoop stated that neither he nor anyone in his company witnessed or took part in Drakeo’s death, and he asserts that he did not know the individuals responsible.

The $20 million lawsuit alleges that insufficient security contributed to Drakeo’s death. Live Nation, the University of Southern California, Los Angeles FC, and the booking company Bobby Dee Presents are listed as defendants in the case. Earlier this year, the University of Southern California, Los Angeles FC, and Bobby Dee Presents were dismissed from the lawsuit.

Nearly five years after the incident, the circumstances surrounding Drakeo The Ruler’s death remain unresolved. No arrests have been made in connection with the killing, and police have not publicly identified any suspects. Despite the altercation being recorded by bystanders, progress in the case has been hindered by a lack of cooperation from witnesses.
