A suspect in the Foolio murder case has stated that his grandmother suffered a heart attack due to the rapper’s diss songs.

On Thursday (30), during the sixth day of the Foolio murder trial, the prosecution presented video footage of Davion Murphy being interrogated after his arrest in January. In the interrogation, Murphy expressed that he and his family were impacted by Foolio’s tracks directed at Murphy’s associates and relatives.

“My auntie was depressed, bedridden,” Murphy said to the investigator. “My grandma caught a heart attack because of the songs he was making. Corben’s mother couldn’t leave her house without encountering someone in public… You know how they do. ‘Where’s Corben?’ Someone urinated on my cousin’s grave. You have to feel that.”

The prosecution seems to be attempting to demonstrate a motive for the murder through the interrogation footage. Murphy was also seen on video mimicking shooting a rifle when the officer exited the room.

Murphy is one of four individuals—alongside Isaiah Chance, Sean Gathright, and Rashad Murphy—currently on trial for the 2024 murder of Jacksonville rapper Foolio, which law enforcement claims was executed as part of an ongoing gang conflict.

Last November, a fifth individual charged in the case was convicted of manslaughter. Her sentencing, originally scheduled for January, has been delayed.
