Nigerian artist Davido has issued an apology to fans after he was unable to attend a scheduled performance in Lagos, citing unexpected challenges related to aviation fuel.

Davido was set to headline an event at Secret Place Ikate Elegushi alongside Zlatan Ibile as part of the venue’s fifth anniversary. However, he did not make it to the show despite a large turnout of fans.

Reactions emerged both at the venue and online as attendees waited for the renowned artist, who ultimately did not take the stage.

The following day, Davido addressed the situation on Instagram, explaining that the issue was beyond his control and was tied to broader logistical challenges affecting travel.

“The world happened to me yesterday. Finding fuel was a problem yesterday to even fly. Everything had to be rescheduled,” he stated.

He expressed regret to the fans who came for the performance and assured them that efforts are in place to compensate for the missed appearance.

“To my fans that pulled up… sorry I missed it. We’re going to run it back again soon,” he noted.

Davido also congratulated the event organizers and reiterated his support, promising to return at a later date.

This incident reflects ongoing concerns regarding aviation fuel supply and increasing operational costs, which have started to impact flight schedules and logistics worldwide, including the entertainment industry.
