Davido Shares Insights Into His Upcoming Project

Global Afrobeats artist Davido has provided fans with an insight into his upcoming studio project, indicating that it will be a purposeful endeavor.

In a recent interview on the Official UK Afrobeats Chart Show with Eddie Kadi, he discussed the direction of his new music, suggesting a focus on his roots.

Davido, whose real name is David Adeleke, mentioned that his forthcoming sound will emphasize his African identity, without conforming to Western trends. This decision appears intentional, especially given his history of connecting Afrobeats with the global market.

Throughout the last decade, Davido has established a significant international presence, working with prominent American and British artists, achieving substantial streaming success, and making appearances at the Grammys.

Having accomplished what many musicians aspire to, he seems now poised to create music on his own terms, reflecting the culture that has influenced him.

“We’ve done it,”

he stated to Eddie Kadi, a comment that conveys both confidence and a sense of achievement after years of pushing boundaries.

“I’ve performed everywhere, sold out every arena, been at all the awards shows, I’ve been to the last 3 GRAMMYs… The music I’m making now is very African..”
