Portable Alleges That His Former Mentor Is Obstructing His Music Career

Portable Olamide

Nigerian singer Portable has once again generated attention in the music industry with a social media outburst directed at his former mentor, Olamide.

In his comments, Portable accused the YBNL head of undermining his career by instructing others not to play his music. This surprise accusation has elicited strong reactions from fans, particularly given Olamide’s significant role in Portable’s rise to fame. Many observers have labeled the remarks as an act of ingratitude, cautioning that the singer might be jeopardizing a crucial relationship in his career.

In a video, Portable expressed confusion over the nature of his connection with Olamide, denying any financial or personal support. He suggested that their relationship had been solely professional and claimed that Olamide was acting out of resentment.

He remarked, “We are in business together now. Were we not supposed to support each other? Why would he tell others not to play my song?” He emphasized his feelings of betrayal regarding his breakout hit.

Portable also called into question Olamide’s claims of assistance, asking whether the rapper ever provided him with food, clothing, housing, or even signed a contract with him.

He depicted himself as self-reliant, comparing himself to a lion hunting in the jungle, independent from past affiliations.

In closing, Portable urged critics and former associates to cease their pursuits, asserting that he prefers to succeed on his own rather than live as a “stray dog.” He maintains that his talent and achievements are self-made, attributing his success to divine support.
