Lil Durk’s court appearance for his murder-for-hire case has been postponed. On Monday, a judge in California rescheduled the trial to May 4 from its original date of January 20.

Court documents indicate that all co-defendants, except for Lil Durk, requested additional time, which was granted due to the complexity of the case. Prosecutors allege that Durk directed members of OTF to execute a hit on Quando Rondo in 2022.

The filing noted that the case’s unusual and complex nature, along with the number of defendants, makes it unreasonable to expect adequate preparation for pre-trial proceedings or for the trial itself within the time limits set by the Speedy Trial Act.

Prosecutors are currently managing a large volume of evidence, which includes over 30,000 pages of records and reports, photographs, and hundreds of gigabytes of digital materials such as surveillance videos and audio recordings.

Lil Durk was arrested by U.S. Marshals in Broward County, Florida, in October 2024. An FBI agent reported that he had booked two flights from South Florida, one going to Dubai and another to Switzerland, and had arranged a private flight to Italy before his arrest.

Following his arrest, Durk proposed several bond packages, all of which were denied. Last June, he offered a $4.5 million package that included cash, 24-hour home detention, electronic monitoring, and private security, but U.S. District Judge Michael Fitzgerald rejected the proposal, stating the funds represented only a fraction of Durk’s net worth.

On his 33rd birthday, the rapper shared on Instagram that he was “thankful to still have a voice” while incarcerated, expressing gratitude for those who supported him during difficult times. He mentioned he is focusing on self-improvement, seeking peace, and hoping the city feels the same way.
