Big Sean Discusses His Favorite Collaborations, Featuring Leon Thomas And Drake

Big Sean has contributed notable rap verses over the past decade, particularly on tracks by other artists. Recently, he reflected on some of his favorite features in an interview with Billboard.

He expressed that early in his career, collaborating with artists like Nas, Eminem, JAY-Z, Ye, and Lil Wayne was a major aspiration. He has been able to work with most of them, often more than once. His selections included songs like Justin Bieber’s “As Long As You Love Me,” Dave East’s “Man in the Mirror,” and A$AP Mob’s “Frat Rules,” among others.

In discussing his recent collaborations, Big Sean mentioned working with Leon Thomas on “PARTY FAVORS” and “VIBES DON’T LIE (Remix),” both included in the project HEEL released in May. Sean explained that he picked one track to work on, but after catching a vibe in the studio, he ended up contributing to both.

He added that they have more music planned for the future, suggesting fans may hear some of it on his next album.

Reflecting on his feature in Kanye West’s “Clique,” Big Sean described it as a significant moment to collaborate with both Ye and Jay-Z. He noted that while other verses were removed from the track, it was an honor for him to remain on it, indicating a notable artist was excluded, which producer Hit-Boy later revealed to be Pusha T.

Recalling his verse on Drake’s “All Me” from the album Nothing Was The Same, Sean mentioned that Drake was very excited when he heard it. He described Drake’s reaction as ecstatic, highlighting the memorable nature of that collaboration during that period.
