Ludacris – 44 Bars

Ludacris may be considered more of a film star by younger hip-hop audiences, but it would be a mistake to overlook his talent as a rapper. For those seeking evidence, the Timbaland and Luca Starz-produced “44 Bars” serves as a strong example. This latest single showcases a mix of clever punchlines, engaging deliveries, and strong confidence, all set against a gritty and dynamic sample. His use of pop culture references, vivid imagery, and his ability to lyrically critique lesser MCs ensure that impactful lines come at a rapid pace. This surprise release raises the possibility of more music to come. In “44 Bars,” Ludacris effectively demonstrates why hip-hop fans should pay attention to both his body of work and his current abilities.
