Life has been far from easy for rapper DDG and singer Halle Bailey since they became parents to their son, Halo. The former couple has recently taken steps to enable their co-parenting to proceed without any restraining orders in place.

The couple separated around October 2024, just under a year following the child’s birth on December 22, 2023. Things have since become increasingly tumultuous, frequently in public view.

Bailey and DDG have filed restraining orders against each other this year, with each party accusing the other of domestic violence. Permission was granted to the former in May 2025. “Darryl (DDG) has been and remains physically, verbally, emotionally, and financially abusive towards me throughout our relationship and up to the present time,” Bailey stated in legal filings. She also claimed to have been subjected to online harassment by him.

Publicly in March 2025, DDG claimed that Bailey had been denying him access to their child. He uploaded a video called “She Won’t Let Me See My Son.” The prolific streamer then filed for and was granted his own temporary restraining order against Bailey in June 2025. According to ABC News, he alleged in his court documents that she posed an immediate threat to his safety and emotional well-being, as well as to the stability and safety of their child.

It seems Halo’s parents are making an effort to put the past behind them. TMZ reported on Tuesday, October 28, that both parties dropped their domestic violence allegations against one another and agreed to share custody of Halo. Both parties were said to retain the option to resubmit their claims based on future actions.

As part of their agreement, DDG and Bailey also included a clause that they are not to post photos of Halo on social media nor publicly criticise each other. They reportedly arranged a schedule, which details holidays and also includes the terms that DDG will have custody on Wednesdays and selected weekends.
