Finesse2tymes Posts Defiant Statement Following Texas Arrest: "I Am Not Hiding Behind Public Relations"

Rapper Finesse2tymes has finally spoken out after his recent arrest in Texas. The Memphis rapper, who was charged with eight counts, including drug possession and evidence tampering in Harris County earlier this week, used Instagram on Wednesday (Oct. 22) to directly respond to the situation.

Alongside his mugshot and music snippets, he noted, “Perceiving the disparity between myself and others is largely due to my indifference towards showcasing my personal growth.” I’m not trying to escape my shortcomings, I’m not using PR to cover up, I’m not using wealth to hide, and I’m not doing what a record label tells me to do. This is my actual life, and I’m definitely going to move forward. I always do it. I have never been subjected to more than I am capable of managing. While you’re all posting about my downfall, post what will lift me up as well.

Finesse2tymes was taken into custody on Monday, October 20, as previously reported by Naijahomeland. He was charged with possessing marijuana, possessing a controlled substance, introducing a prohibited substance into a correctional facility, and multiple other offenses. The report also showed that, as per Harris County Jail, the XXL Freshman alumnus was no longer in police custody as of 21 October. No further information has been provided by the authorities about the incident.

A post from Finesse2tymes follows several legal matters in 2025, including a dropped “terroristic threats” charge and a pending civil lawsuit related to a 2023 shooting in the Atlanta area. In January, he was accused of making a threat to shoot a woman during an argument, but charges were subsequently dropped due to a lack of sufficient evidence. A former driver, Ernest Flores, subsequently took legal action to seek compensation for injuries he sustained in the 2023 incident.

In his most recent post, Finesse2tymes seemed intent on taking responsibility and self-improvement, and underscored the importance of perseverance in the face of ongoing difficulties. “He’s not just a complete failure,” he wrote.
