Not even the strongest individuals can always manage on their own. Megan Thee Stallion broke down in tears on Sunday, October 12, while thinking about the moment she understood that she required therapy.

The β€œWhenever” rapper, who attended Taraji P. Henson’s i AM The Table Benefit Brunch in honor of World Mental Health Day, discussed her experience with grappling with her sorrow. β€œI was simply working and striving to be the best version of myself,” she revealed. “I didn’t realize I needed therapy until one day I suddenly thought, ‘I’m genuinely really upset.'”

Megan fought back tears as she admitted that it was “really scary” to acknowledge how depressed she’d been. She expressed that she didn’t care about what was happening to her and didn’t want to feel a sense of detachment from her life, as indicated by her comment before wiping her eyes.

Henson then took a moment to express her gratitude to Megan for sharing her experience. The actress informed her that someone elsewhere is experiencing emotions identical to hers. View the video that is displayed beneath.

Megan has spoken publicly about her mental health on multiple previous occasions. She reflected on her loss in 2019 when her mother, Holly Thomas, succumbed to brain cancer during last year’s In Her Words. I’m completely falling apart. The Houston native recalled feeling lost, saying “I think I really forgot who I was, and when life started getting chaotic, I didn’t have her.”

The following year, the Grammy Award-winning rapper experienced increasing pain after being shot in the foot by Tory Lanez. “She admitted to becoming overly invested in social media,” she said in an excerpt from the feature-length film. I am universally despised by everyone. I had a complete emotional collapse.

Megan has successfully overcome all the challenges she has encountered. In 2022, she launched her Bad B**ches Have Bad Days Too wellness hub, which provided a foundation for her starring role in the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention’s Seize the Awkward campaign and her collaboration with the California Department of Public Health on youth suicide prevention initiatives.

It’s therefore no surprise that The Trevor Project honoured her as the Mental Health Champion of the Year on October 10 last Friday. Megan expressed pride in a press statement. “My objective has consistently been to utilise my platform to assist in dispelling stigmas surrounding mental health and offer resources for individuals seeking secure environments to engage in genuine and heartfelt discussions.”
