The organisers of this year’s 17th Headies Awards have announced the winners of the ceremony.
The 17th Annual Headies Awards ceremony was held last night at the Landmark Event Centre in Lagos, Nigeria, to recognize Nigerian artists’ accomplishments both domestically and internationally.
Davido received the Digital Artiste of the Year award at the ceremony, in recognition of his significant online influence.
Rema’s album “HEIS” won the Afrobeats Album of the Year award, praised for its groundbreaking sound and international appeal. Asake’s chart-topping song secured him the prestigious Song of the Year award, further solidifying his position as a prominent figure in the Afrobeats music scene.
ODUMODUBLVCK was chosen as the Next Rated artist, a recognition of his growing talent and promising prospects, while Zerry DL was awarded Rookie of the Year.
Tems gave a standout performance, earning her the award for Best Vocal Performance (Female) in recognition of her captivating, soulful voice and emotionally resonant delivery on her recent singles.
MohBad was posthumously recognized with the Best Street-Hop Artiste award, alongside other honours, as a tribute to the lasting impact of his work.
Music releases in the form of singles, videos, live recordings, EPs, and albums on digital platforms or physical formats, such as cassettes, CDs, and vinyl records, published between April 1, 2023, and July 31, 2024, were considered for nomination and selection.
The 2025 Headies, with the theme “Back 2 Base,” marked a triumphant return to Nigeria after two years in Atlanta, celebrating Afrobeats’ global influence.
