21 Savage is advocating for Young Thug and Gunna to reconcile their differences. On December 17, the rapper posted several tweets encouraging the collaborators to resolve their issues.

“Y’all fix that situation. You care about each other. You knew Gunna wasn’t a gangster when he first spoke out, and we overlooked it for you,” Savage stated on X. “He wasn’t trying to abandon you. We’ve only experienced trauma from this conflict.”

In another tweet, he remarked, “Last year, I was considered genuine for trying to prevent Thug from criticizing Gunna. Now I’m labeled fake.”

For additional context, the relationship between the two rappers has been strained since Gunna took an Alford plea in 2022, which required him to admit that YSL was a gang. Young Thug felt this was a betrayal, although the plea could not be used in the RICO trial.

Savage’s remarks followed Thug’s father, Jeffery Williams Sr., attending one of Gunna’s “The Wun World Tour” performances. Williams Sr. previously mentioned in an interview that Gunna did not do anything to harm his son’s case: “I love Gunna.”

Recently, on December 12, Savage released his fourth studio album, WHAT HAPPENED TO THE STREETS?, featuring collaborations with artists such as Young Nudy, Lil Baby, Drake, and Latto. According to Hits Daily Double, the album is expected to debut at No. 7 on the Billboard 200 with 53,000 units.

In an interview with Big Bank prior to the album’s release, Savage discussed his perspective on how Gunna and Thug might mend their relationship. “The only way to resolve this is if Gunna reaches out to him,” he commented. “I genuinely don’t believe he intended to hurt him.”
