Young Thug claims that despite him and Gunna still being extremely fond of each other, reconciliation is not an option for them. On Monday’s episode of the “It’s Up There Podcast,” which aired on September 29, Thugger discussed why he could never view his “Hot” collaborator in the same way, regardless of the circumstances.

“He said they could go get a trillion dollars together.” “I’ll still have trouble gazing at you the way I used to before our time in prison … I love you to the point of death.” I’m aware that you have feelings of affection for me. We love each other to the point of obsession, and then we simply go our separate ways.

The So Much Fun rapper went on to clarify that it wouldn’t make sense for Gunna to try to be friends with him again, mainly because it would feel awkward. He stated, “We are going to be around each other, we are going to try to be cool, the greeting will be different.” It’s all going to be different because I already view it as a distinct situation. Young Thug has repeatedly expressed feelings of betrayal by Gunna in the past, both while incarcerated and after his release last year. The “fukumean” artist accepted an Alford plea agreement in 2022, which involved admitting that YSL is a gang. The two haven’t spoken since Thugger’s release in October 2024.

Contrary to what many people assume, Young Thug stated that he is not bitter about how things concluded. I’ll be sitting right next to you and I’ll just break down in tears. I’m going to feel a certain type of way sitting around you because I know exactly how I felt about you. I’m aware of what I did on your behalf. We’ve shared many times together. We’ve cried together before.

Young Thug released his first album following his return, titled UY SCUTI, on Friday, September 26. He took a jab at Gunna on “Dreams Rarely Do Come True,” saying, “We were talking about something serious and it just made me sad / Why would I cry over a woman, I gave her to Gunna police-a?”
