Rapper Killer Mike consistently offers thought-provoking opinions. The Atlanta rapper recently stated that Young Thug and YFN Lucci had finally put their differences aside, describing it as a long time in the making and beneficial to the city they all represent.

Killer Mike discussed how higher-ups had requested him to ensure that other Atlanta rappers avoided resorting to violence during his appearance on “Club Shay Shay.” “Money doesn’t benefit from violence,” the veteran emcee remarked. “You people who believe you’re in control of the streets – God have mercy on our souls because I’ve been one of those individuals – we don’t control anything.”

Mike stated, “I want to inform athletes and entertainers to take yourselves more seriously than your colleagues do, because the people around you may want you to be at the top of the local community, but I’m saying you can achieve the top position in corporate settings if you make the right choices.”

Killer Mike claimed they received calls from “very powerful individuals” urging him and T.I. to instruct Thugger and Lucci to “cut the nonsense”. Both young artists, who relayed the messages, ultimately ended up in jail; Thugger was arrested in May 2022 for his involvement in the YSL Rico case, while Lucci was arrested in January 2021 for gang-related charges linked to a drive-by shooting.

The feud between Thugger and Lucci is reportedly rooted in a 2015 incident where YSL members allegedly shot and killed Lucci’s manager, Donovan “Nut” Thomas Jr. Two years after that, Lucci reportedly took issue with Thugger’s clothing on the JEFFERY album cover, prompting him to tweet, “Pac would have never worn a dress.” In 2017, tensions escalated when the two rappers used Instagram to issue threats of physical harm.

The rappers were released from prison in late 2024 and early 2025, shortly after serving their respective jail terms for the mentioned arrests. Thug and Lucci apparently clashed over their simultaneous Sept. 26 album releases — UY SCUTI by Thug and ALREADY LEGEND by Lucci. The message of peace was eventually understood. Their disagreement over beef had actually been resolved, as they worked together on each other’s projects. Lucci featured on Thugger’s “Whaddup Jesus”, while Thugger held down his track “Still Waiting” on Lucci’s album.

Lucci discussed the reasons behind putting their disputes behind them during an interview with SiriusXM. He acknowledged that they had been through a lot, with everyone having suffered losses. We lost some individuals. Above all, we lost valuable time. We had to be separated from our family. Come back home – what the heck can someone do to grow? We’re going to keep doing this and end up back in jail… or we’re going to fix this and make it look good for the A.

Killer Mike is certainly a fan of the current appearance.
