YG – Hollywood ft. Shoreline Mafia

YG is a revered figure on the West Coast, and it’s hardly surprising that he’s taking an interest in the feud between his LA peers and Joey Bada$$$. As Joey took down each of his opponents in succession, YG chose to respond with a shot.

There’s no doubt that his new song “Hollywood” featuring Shoreline Mafia contains some amount of venom, despite it not being a diss track. The opening section mentions a couple of bars referencing baby oil and Diddy parties. Joey’s East Coast background has contributed to the party scene being a major aspect of the Diddy celebration.

Later in the track, YG raps, “All the pretty whores are going to play this, while Joey Bada$$ is going to dislike this.” Although it’s a nice shot, Joey’s response to it is still uncertain.

The song embodies the essence of a classic West Coast track. Every aspect of the production, from start to finish, is functioning at its best.

With the shots now having been fired, it’s impossible not to speculate whether YG will opt to release a comprehensive diss track. When he does, chaos will erupt. He would undoubtedly be the most renowned artist from the West Coast to participate.
