Yeat – Feel No Wayz

Yeat Feel No Wayz

Yeat has reworked the 2016 song “Feel No Ways” by Drake into a moody reinterpretation, which he has titled “Feël No Wayz (Yeat Mix)”. A Portland-based artist unveiled the cover art during his performance at Coachella, which led to swift and intense reactions being shared online.

Yeat revamped the track’s sound by replacing Drake’s laid-back production with a darker, more captivating atmosphere, while incorporating his distinctive autotuned effect. He used the song as a transition from his live performance of “IDGAF,” the collaboration he did with Drake from For All the Dogs, which has become a staple of his shows.

The cover left fans unprepared. Noted for his futuristic trap beats and otherworldly style, Yeat’s decision to rework this emotional Drake track indicated a shift towards greater introspection. Coachella marked a turning point for the previously underground artist as they transitioned to the festival’s main stage.

His development has been consistent over time. In 2024, he released Lyfestyle, a unique fusion of distorted electronic rhythms and dreamlike vocal elements. He then released songs such as “Work” and “The Bell,” which furthered his exploration into sonic experimentation and minimalist lyrics. His music remains a blend of various genres as his devoted fan base continues to expand.

Yeat prefers to let his work communicate his message without giving interviews or drawing media attention. Playing one of Drake’s more emotionally exposed songs reveals a willingness to explore deeper themes. “Feël No Wayz” doesn’t merely imitate the original; it reinterprets it, capturing Yeat’s emotional remoteness and digital disconnection.

The artist’s reputation for reinvention makes this decision fitting. Yeat manipulates nostalgia, turns conventional expectations on their head, and reclaims popular cultural moments according to his own preferences.
