Wizkid And Don Jazzy Meet Up Again In Lagos

Nigerian music star Wizkid has recently had a meeting with Don Jazzy, his well-established counterpart in the music industry, in Lagos, indicating a reconciliation between these two prominent figures within the music industry.

The gathering takes place months following their widely publicized online disagreement.

Wizkid, famous for his chart-topping tracks “Essence” and “Ojuelegba,” was seen relaxing on a couch with Don Jazzy, the chief executive of Mavin Records, in Lagos. As Wizkid’s entourage readied to leave Don Jazzy’s home, the two superstars exchanged a brief hug before departure.

Don Jazzy shared a photo from the meeting on social media, accompanying it with elephant and eagle emojis in the caption. The reunion suggests that the two influential musicians have set aside their differences, as seen in Wizkid’s effort to mend his relationship with Don Jazzy earlier this year.

The disagreement between the two started in April 2024, after Wizkid described Don Jazzy as an “influencer” on his X page, prompting widespread social media backlash. Weeks after the issue, Wizkid publicly acknowledged Don Jazzy as an ‘amazing human’, effectively putting an end to the dispute.
