Shortly after winning her second Grammy for Best African Music Performance with her single “Push 2 Start,” the South African artist announced her upcoming sophomore album backstage, generating excitement among her fanbase.

Tyla expressed her announcement with confidence, stating, “My second album is coming out this summer, and it’s called A-POP.”

Although she did not reveal many details, Tyla indicated that new music is on the way. The 24-year-old, recognized for her combination of pop, R&B, and amapiano—sometimes referred to as “popiano”—suggested that this project represents her development rather than a complete transformation.

“It’s going to feel different,” she noted. “It’s not a new me, just more of who I am now. I was 21, 22 before. Now at 24, I really feel like a woman with more to say and new energy to bring. I’m so excited.”

Fans later noticed that the album title had been hinted at previously. In the visuals for her hit “Chanel,” “A-POP” appears briefly around the 52-second mark.

Continuing the excitement, on February 3, 2026, Tyla shared a new video on social media that included a snippet of an unreleased track from the upcoming album, providing the fans with an initial preview of the new era.
