Time really goes quickly! On Thursday, September 18, Mac Miller’s third album, GO:OD AM, officially turned ten years old. To mark this occasion, the rapper’s estate shared a short film called GO:OD AM (Time Flies, Try To Catch It).

“I wanted this album to sound fresh. Most of my recent music was more serious and sad,” Miller says at the start of the video. “I aimed for this album to be different, to sound strong and uplifting. ”

The film, directed by his regular partner Sam Balaban, shows fans a lot of new footage and thoughts from people who were close to the “Self Care” artist. For instance, audio engineer Josh Berg remembered Miller hanging out with Rick Rubin in Malibu for a short time.

“That’s where GO:OD AM really started,” he explained. “I was around him for a long time. ” Shortly after, video director Rex Arrow mentioned, “We lived together in the summer of 2014. He didn’t stop recording. ” The film also features Miller’s manager, Christian Clancy, and Quentin “Q” Cuff. You can watch the short film below.

GO:OD AM was Miller’s first album with Warner Records. “I think it was the right moment. This is the first time I had a real budget to use, which is great,” he talked about six minutes into the video. “I could actually plan cool marketing ideas and watch them come to life, like getting a billboard. ”

The 17 songs include “ROS,” “100 Grandkids,” and maybe the most well-known, “Weekend” with Miguel. Other artists on the album were Ab-Soul, Chief Keef, Little Dragon, and Lil B.

In January, Miller’s estate released Balloonerism, an album he was working on around the same time as GO:OD AM, on streaming platforms. “This was a project that meant a lot to Malcolm, so much that he had artwork made for it, and we talked about when to release it often,” they said at that time.
