Despite the potential for Joey Bada$$ and Columbia Records to collaborate, the Pro Era MC still appears to be upset. He’s informing his superiors about how he feels through his latest single “DARK AURA.” The battle-tested rapper, produced by Chuck Strangers, expresses frustration on his album rollout by feeling isolated like a lone wolf.

“You’re not talking about cash, you must be speaking a different tongue / We have an independent attitude, we’re not messing with the major labels.” As Joey’s performance progresses, his energy and anger escalate, accompanied by a grand, Bond-like boom bap beat.

The title accurately reflects its fiery, motivational, and dark essence. He’s been on this type of vibe since the very beginning of 2025. Joey Bada$$ managed to provoke a group of West Coast rappers to respond. Most people claim that he won and only lightly touched.

With the Brooklyn native energized by his experiences with lyrical and label conflicts, Lonely at the Top is full of potential for album of the year. Next Friday, August 29, fans will be able to get their hands on his fourth studio LP.
