Tyler The Creator’s CHROMAKOPIA celebrated its first anniversary on Tuesday, October 28. The rapper released a deluxe edition, called CHROMAKOPIA+, to commemorate the first anniversary of his eighth studio album, and it includes “Mother” which is now available on streaming platforms.

The song was initially exclusive to the limited test pressing of the LP’s vinyl. The streaming version of “Mother” introduced a completely rewritten opening verse by Tyler. “Lennox, where are the brown boys? I won’t go there / Del Aire, where are the white boys? I don’t reside there,” he raps.

The song “Mother” is a dedication to Tyler’s mother, Bonita Smith. Check out the new cover and listen to it below.

Tyler achieved a huge success with CHROMAKOPIA. The project made its debut at number. It debuted at number 1 on the Billboard 200 chart on a Monday. The album featured the Daniel Caesar-assisted single “Like Him,” as well as the posse cut “Sticky,” which included collaborations with GloRilla, Sexyy Red, and Lil Wayne. The founder of Golf Wang wrote and produced the 14-song album alone.

The LP led to Tyler’s “CHROMAKOPIA: THE WORLD TOUR,” which was accompanied by the release of DON’T TAP THE GLASS. It may well have been the last time fans could see him on the road for a considerable period. At the end of the trek, the “Noid” rapper revealed he was contemplating a “very, very long break.”

“I’m looking forward to going home and considering whether I’ll ever tour again because I’m no longer 20 years old,” Tyler said to the crowd. Honestly, I’m at a stage in my life where, to be blunt, I feel I’ve accomplished enough. Notably, fans can look forward to at least one more live show when he performs at next month’s Camp Flog Gnaw as the headliner. The bill also features Doechii, A$AP Rocky, Teezo Touchdown, and Earl Sweatshirt.
