It’s A$AP Rocky’s birthday. On Friday, October 3, the Harlem rapper and father of three turned 37. One of his closest friends and collaborators, Tyler, The Creator, along with his fans and growing family, also joined in on the celebration.

Tyler took to his Instagram stories to congratulate Ayo Edebiri on joining the 30 club. “Do you think you’ve grown up now?” he wrote over a selfie of them giving the camera the middle finger. “Welcome to the threes.” It only gets better, he warned, not to believe what they say, as he shared a photo of the actress working on the set for his “Darling, I” video.

In a subsequent post, Tyler paid tribute to his “Potato Salad” collaborator. To my work partner. He signed off with a few cake emojis, saying “Love you, bro!” [A$AP Rocky]. The accompanying story featured a FaceTime screenshot of the two sporting their gold grillz.

Tyler and Rocky have had an intriguing relationship throughout their years together. Fans have witnessed the “L$D” rapper insert ad-libs on “What The F**k Right Now,” the two exchange bars on the “Who Dat Boy,” and many more. They also initially considered forming a rap duo called Don’t Tap The Glass, which is the same title Tyler later used for his ninth studio album.

It was actually a name that I had for Flacko and me as a duo, but it never got used. Tyler told “Ebro in the Morning” in July that he thought it would be cool. The band could simply be referred to as Don’t Tap The Glass. When you’re at the zoo or somewhere similar, they’ll often tell you not to mess with the gorillas. I thought that would be really cool. I thought that would be super cool.”

In August, Rocky subsequently trolled Tyler at Lollapalooza, which had been the venue for the CHROMAKOPIA creator’s recent performance, just a few days prior. A shout out to my brother Tyler, who is still a bit of an unpleasant person, as he himself admitted. He was here the other day. Screw you, Tyler.
