Tyler, The Creator filmed his scenes in Marty Supreme shortly after the release of his Grammy-nominated album CHROMAKOPIA. During an interview with Apple Music’s Ebro Darden on December 17, the artist and director Josh Safdie discussed their collaboration.

“We were filming and CHROMAKOPIA’s been out for five days,” Tyler mentioned, to which Safdie noted it was “less than that.” Tyler continued, “It came out, I had the Brooklyn show right after, and we shot the day before.”

He recalled, “It’s a scene where I’m in the car, and I tell Timmy something. I’m not joking, it’s maybe 4:50 [a.m.] when we’re shooting that shot. The album just came out, I’ve been going back and forth doing shows [in] Atlanta, LA, and then here, acting. I haven’t had any sleep, but it’s for the love of this game.”

Tyler added, “I’m so used to the warm weather back home that coming here to shoot upstate made me sick from the sudden cold. So, I’m worn out. I think my hotel had mold, seriously.”

Marty Supreme marks Tyler’s feature film debut, in which he will portray Wally, a taxi driver and friend of Marty Mauser, when the movie is released in theaters on December 25. The cast includes Timothée Chalamet, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Odessa A’zion, among others.

To commemorate the film’s release, GOLF WANG is launching a special collection inspired by the movie. Fans can purchase jackets, shirts, and other Marty Supreme-themed items starting on December 19 at 8 p.m. PT through the brand’s website and flagship stores.

Heading into 2026, Tyler’s CHROMAKOPIA and several songs from the album are nominated in multiple Grammy categories, alongside DON’T TAP THE GLASS, which is nominated for Best Alternative Music Album.
