TYCOON by Ty Dolla $ign is scheduled to be released approximately one month from now. The singer-songwriter removed all content from his social media on Monday, September 8, and published a preview trailer for his upcoming fourth studio album, due for release on October 17.

A black-and-white video begins with a group of businessmen staring blankly at the camera while a narrator explains the origin of the word “tycoon,” which literally means “Great Lord” in the feudal Japanese language. The world distorted it like all things of beauty. They gorge on excess, tailor laws to accommodate their wrongdoing and expunge remorse with wealth that’s as thick as blood.

The singer from California is set to release her first solo album in five years. He collaborated with dvsn on Cheers to the Best Memories after featuring Ty Dolla $ign in 2020, prior to releasing two VULTURES projects with Kanye West.

The LP, spanning 15 tracks, will include regular contributors Leon Thomas and Chlöe. Up to this point, the sole confirmed single is “ALL IN,” which was released earlier this summer. “The entrepreneur has put his all into this,” Ty Dolla $ign told Billboard. This is an incredibly eccentric collection. I’m currently at my peak performance. I’m moving on to the next level. You’ll notice the improvement, the musical quality, and it will exceed everything being released.

It will undoubtedly be a crucial moment for the Grammy-nominated artist to remind his fans that he can, indeed, still excel on his own.
