Travis Scott is set to make his acting debut. He appears in a new teaser for Christopher Nolan’s upcoming film, The Odyssey, where he has a speaking role.

The one-minute teaser was first shown on Sunday (Jan. 25) during Fox’s broadcast of the NFL’s AFC Championship game between the New England Patriots and Denver Broncos, with the Patriots emerging as the winners.

The film is based on Homer’s epic, the Odyssey, and the teaser features content that will be recognizable to those familiar with the classic text. In the clip, Jon Bernthal’s Menelaus and Tom Holland’s Telemachus are quieted by Scott’s character, who makes his entrance by tapping his staff on the ground.

He states, “A war, a man, a trick — a trick to break the walls of Troy,” as images of the Trojan War are displayed. “It burning, screaming to the ground.”

Scott’s previous acting roles have mostly been in his music videos, but he joins a notable cast in this film. Matt Damon portrays Odysseus, the King of Ithaca trying to return home after the Trojan War, alongside Zendaya, Lupita Nyong’o, Robert Pattinson, Benny Safdie, Charlize Theron, Himesh Patel, Elliot Page, and others.

Fans of Scott may remember that he collaborated with Nolan on the director’s 2020 film Tenet, contributing the track “THE PLAN” to the soundtrack. Nolan has expressed a strong appreciation for their collaboration, noting, “His voice became the final piece of a year-long puzzle,” and praising Scott’s insights into the project.

The Odyssey is slated to be released in theaters on July 17.
