Too Short – Still Mackin

Too Short released his debut album, ‘Don’t Stop Rappin’, in 1983. At that time, he was 17 years old. At nearly 60 years old and more than 40 years after offering the guidance, he is now following his own advice. Oakland’s celebrated rapper boasts a total of nearly 30 albums in his discography. He has now released another new single. His latest release is titled “Still Mackin,” signifying that he is persisting in creating new music and appears to have no intention of reducing his output. Some might claim he’ll never give up rapping.

Too Short is in his characteristic lyrical form. Throughout his career, he has maintained his quick-witted nature, which has never diminished. He spits his strong rhymes over a laid-back West Coast instrumental, which was created by V.T., who has also collaborated with Too Short and E-40 in the past. His music is straightforward to listen to and he has consistently maintained a smooth flow throughout his career. Too Short has not made any public statements about releasing a new album. He’s always engaged in a project, either solo or with E-40, and sometimes with other artists he chooses to collaborate with. The track “Still Mackin” showcases the artist’s continued productivity, even after several decades in the music industry. We should all strive to have the same level of passion for something as Too Short has for hip-hop. Check out “Still Mackin” in the audio provided below.
