TML Vibez Names Wizkid, Asake, Olamide, And Seyi Vibez As His Primary Influences

Nigerian street-pop artist TML Vibez has discussed the musicians who have influenced his sound, naming Wizkid, Asake, Olamide, and Seyi Vibez as his key inspirations. He indicates that each artist contributes to different aspects of his artistry, ranging from global appeal to authentic street roots and emotional depth.

In a recent interview on Yanga FM 89.9 Lagos, which was widely shared online, TML Vibez articulated how these influences reflect his evolving musical style and identity. He noted,

“I draw my inspiration from Wizkid, Asake, Olamide, and Seyi Vibez,”

emphasizing the significant role that this group plays in shaping his melodic and introspective style, combined with raw street energy.

This discussion follows ongoing tensions among fans regarding TML Vibez’s previous affiliation with Seyi Vibez. TML Vibez initially rose to fame under Vibez Inc., the label owned by Seyi Vibez, releasing tracks like “Goated” and “Where I’m From.” However, a contentious split in 2025 led to accusations of betrayal, with some fans labeling TML as a “Judas” for aligning more with Dapper after their separation.

Speculation surrounding contract issues, revenue disagreements, and blocked releases has sparked significant online discussions, leading to a divide in the NSNV (No Seyi No Vibez) fanbase.

Despite these challenges, TML Vibez’s recognition of his influences reflects a respect for the artists who have paved the way for him, while also indicating his desire to establish a distinctive presence in the Afrobeats and street-pop genres.
