The Weeknd – Timeless (Remix) ft. Playboi Carti, & Doechii

Doechii has been on a prolific tour schedule to kick off 2025. The Tampa-based rapper began her year by winning a Grammy Award for Best Rap Album, marking her as the first female artist to receive the honour since Lauryn Hill’s success in 1999. She officially issued “Anxiety,” a song that sampled Gotye and was initially recorded in 2020. Since then, it has become extremely popular, peaking at number 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and further solidifying her status as a respected artist. The rapper signed to TDE is experiencing an enormous amount of momentum currently. She’s leveraging that buzz to land a spot on a remix of The Weeknd and Playboi Carti’s hit song “Timeless,” a notable track from The Weeknd’s well-received album Hurry Up Tomorrow.

On May 2, last week, Doechii made a notable appearance on the remix of Westside Gunn’s song “Egypt,” giving a standout verse in what was arguably one of the most assertive performances of her career so far. The “Timeless” remix does not blend together as smoothly as the “Egypt” remix did, yet Doechii’s authenticity is unmistakable, making any discrepancies irrelevant.

Doechii flaunts her recent achievements while on the track. The conversation revolves around her company’s significant revenue figures and her claim of being genuine since early childhood, aligning with a recurring theme from the beginning. The new verse by Doechii lends the track the energy it previously lacked, while The Weeknd and Playboi Carti’s sections remain unchanged. She’s a valuable enhancement to an already excellent track, and is definitely worth hearing. The track can be streamed below.
