The Weeknd – Hong Kong ft. 王菲季候風

The Weeknd has expressed his admiration for Cantopop and Wong Kar-wai films, particularly those featuring actors like Faye Wong. This appreciation led him to honor this art form during his recent performances in Hong Kong. He has released a new Asia-exclusive track titled “Hong Kong,” which samples Faye Wong’s 1993 Cantonese hit “Monsoon (季候風).” Abel Tesfaye first performed this track at Hong Kong’s Kai Tak Stadium on October 24, and the performance can be viewed online. The song features a sweet and tender style with a sense of grandeur, showcasing The Weeknd’s vocal abilities. It is currently available on digital streaming platforms in Asia, with live performance footage accessible for those outside the region.
